175 years Cunard painting

Last December photographed cruise ship crew members Cunard's Queen Victoria. Kindly agreed to do that so when proceeded to a painting in Funchal.
It was a day that I was on board the steamer for a ceremony that had to do with the 175th anniversary of the company. And also tiunha to do with an exhibition that Wood Ship Enthusiasts Club was held in honor precisely the ephemeris, which sought to reveal the historical connection of Cunard with Madeira. 95 years ago the company brings its ships regularly to Funchal translating the arrival of thousands of tourists.
However, only recently I went to see the finished work in the port. I never had published the first photograph because he understood to be incomplete by failing to show what they had then painted.30

wainting for the famous Funchal fireworks in the last day of the year

This is the last day of the year. In Funchal we have the famous fireworks at midnight. Because that the city and all island is full with tourists who came to see the beautifull fireworks in the the Funchal amphiteater. They came in airplanes and in cruise ships, like you can see in this photos. The last one show two ships positioned in one of the points where the fireworks will go to the sky. There are six cruise ships (Queen Victoria, Azura, AIDAsol, AIDAbella, Thomson Majesty and Boudicca) today in Funchal. All of them and more two, the Lobo Marinho ferry and the Ponta de São Louirenço tug, will do a horn concert, the "Madeira new year ships horns concert", at 19.15 hours. Will be a unic moment in Madeira island and in all world. I will try to record and tomorrow I show. One more words just to say that we whait two more cruise ships: Saga Saphire and MSC Divina.

happy new year

These are two of the ships are now in Funchal city to attend the New Year. The Queen Victoria, left, and Oriana, to the right. The fireworks marking the new year is a very popular tourist attraction for residents on the island and also for the thousands of tourists who would sell out the hotels.
The year is coming to an end in Funchal. Sooner or later, the new year will arrive in all world. I want a 2010 to suit their desires.

A large ship like the Queen Victoria, from Cunard, could not fail to have an elegant and imposing funnel.

ships on board

I was on board the Queen Victoria recently. Besides the beauty on board, I saw, among the many models of ships which had from Cunard, the company who belong to, the Queen Mary, accompanied by a painting of Queen Elizabeth 2, sold to Dubai to be a floating hotel.

Estive a bordo do Queen Victoria recentemente.
