O que vê em primeiro plano, com cores mais vivas, é a ponta do Garajau, que pertence a Santa Cruz, o concelho que ladeia a cidade do Funchal a leste. No entanto o que está lá adiante, a meio da fotografia, já é a capital da ilha da Madeira, que aqui surge desde a Ponta da Cruz até a baixa da cidade e a freguesia de São Martinho, mais alta.
Mas esta fotografia ainda mostra mais. Sobre esta língua de terra que é o Funchal vemos o concelho seguinte, o de Câmara de Lobos, com o icónico Cabo Girão lá no alto.

The Saga Ruby and the Funchal in Funchal port at January 1st. They have similar lines but they have now different destinations. The first one will be an hotel in Asia and the second returns to cruises after change to another owner and was all recovered after a long standing.
The portuguese cruise ship Funchal has the name of Funchal city, and she has that name just because the Madeira island capital name. I made this photo in the first jnauary, when she returns to her city after changing the owner, has been completely refurbished and get back in the original colors.
I take this photo some days ago when I when I looked Funchal west in a momentary way to the balcony. I just had time to rush to seek my Canon SX30 and record this and other sequences of this set magnificent sunsets.
