Estive a bordo do Oriana há umas semanas, quando foram assinalados os 20 anos desde a estreia do navio na Madeira.
I was aboard the Oriana a few weeks ago, when they were marked 20 years since the debut of the ship in Madeira.

Oriana arrives to Funchal Port
The cruise ship Oriana arrives today slowly to Funchal port where are another thwo cruise ships: Grand Mistral and Saga Ruby. In total, there are 5.000 passegengers and crew. The building near the ship is the cathedral.

O navio de cruzeiros Oriana chega calmamente ao Porto do Funchal onde estão outros dois paquetes: o Grand Mistral e o Saga Ruby. No total, estão no porto cerca de 5.000 pesssoas entre passageiros e tripulantes. A edificação junto ao navio é a sé do Funchal.

These are two of the ships are now in Funchal city to attend the New Year. The Queen Victoria, left, and Oriana, to the right. The fireworks marking the new year is a very popular tourist attraction for residents on the island and also for the thousands of tourists who would sell out the hotels.
The year is coming to an end in Funchal. Sooner or later, the new year will arrive in all world. I want a 2010 to suit their desires.
Estes são dois dos navios que estão hoje no Funchal para assistir à passagem do ano. O Queen Victoria, à esquerda, e o Oriana, à direita. O fogo de artifício que assinala o novo ano constitui um cartaz turístico muito apreciado pelos residentes na ilha e igualmente pelos milhares de turistas que esgotam a lotação dos hotéis.
O ano está a chegar ao fim no Funchal. Mais cedo ou mais tarde, o ano novo vai chegar em todo o mundo. Desejo um 2010 à medida dos seus desejos.
building a big ship
I will reveal a secret. In the city where I was born and alive we built ships. Thats true ... We built, but only small models or models of plastic to mount. What this picture seems to show is an illusion to the new platform of Funchal in construction in the foreground, and the cruise ship for P&O Oriana, in another of his many stints in the city.
Vou revelar um segredo. Na cidade onde nasci e vivo contruímos navios. É verdade... construímos, mas apenas pequenas maquetas ou modelos de plástico para montar. O que esta imagem parece mostrar é uma ilusão com a nova gare do porto do Funchal em construção, em primeiro plano, e o navio de cruzeiros da P&O, o Oriana, em mais uma das suas muitas passagens pela cidade.

The P&O cruise ship "Oriana", is coming again this morning to the port of Funchal. Also we can see some houses of the city.
