an ancient balcony that holds up in time

8 years: the same framing of the first photo as of April 29, 2009

This photograph is of particular importance to me and to the Funchal Daily Photo project. The first photograph I put on the website on April 29, 2009 was a similar framework, where you could read some brands of Madeira wine at the Madeira Wine facilities in Largo Severiano Ferraz, now almost deactivated because they moved to another Space more modern and wider, in Caniçal.
But the embossed letters that I photographed then and which I published are no longer on the wall. However, you can still read what was written.

In a way, the dropped letters may have some parelism with the Funchal Daily Photo website, even in the change because I always have a constant concern to present a different site with better quality.

However, I must confess that if I still publish photographs today it is because I am persistent and stubborn in fighting the adversities that could lead me to give up.

But I also do not hide that it saddens me not to feel the site still more cherished in this walk of eight years, with the daily publication of a different photograph of the city of Funchal. It is a unique project in Madeira and in the country, which takes the island's capital around the world every day.
